Truist Grant Helps Purchase Tools

Earlier in 2024, Truist Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the Samaritan Car Care Clinic as part of Truist’s effort to support workforce development. The Clinic was able to use the grant to buy tools to be used by technicians in training.

Clinic shop manager and director of training, Jim Dennis, has a long-time relationship with MAC Tools, which is owned by Stanley Black & Decker.

Jim approached MAC Tools about offering a discount to the Clinic so the Clinic could buy tool sets to be used by Gateway Community & Technical College students who intern at the Clinic while they are in school.

The Truist Foundation grant was just enough to purchase two “starter” mechanic tool sets at a greatly reduced price. Many thanks to Truist Foundation for providing the grant, and to MAC Tools for offering the Clinic a substantial discount.
